Your Questions Answered

Q: Do you require a contract for membership plans?

A: We do not require contracts. However, membership plans are structured for the full season. Honoring the seasonal commitment allows us to continue offering contract-free service and stable pricing for all members.

Q: What if I need to cancel before the end of the season?

A: If a membership is canceled before the end of the season, a final billing adjustment may apply if the value of services performed exceeds the amount paid to date. Early cancellation of a plan voids your price lock guarantee.

Members who wish to rejoin in a future season will be subject to a $250 reactivation fee.

Q: Do you require an in-person estimate?

A: In most cases, no. We provide instant, transparent pricing based on your property’s square footage and can typically measure your lawn using professional mapping tools.

After enrollment, a team member will perform a brief property walkthrough to assess for overgrowth, debris, or unsafe mowing conditions. You will be notified in advance, and your presence is not required.

Q: Do all plans include a spring cleanup?

A: All plans confirmed before April 1st are guaranteed a spring cleanup. Due to seasonal scheduling limitations, plans beginning after April 1st are not guaranteed spring cleanup service.

Q: Can I remove or add services from a plan?

A: Services may be removed; however, plan pricing remains unchanged. Additional services may be added at any time from our available add-on list.

Q: Will pricing change during the season?

A: Membership pricing remains fixed unless the scope of service changes.

Basic plans are locked in through 2026. Standard plans are locked in through 2027. Complete plans are locked in through 2028.

Q: How do I use my Property Monitoring Benefits?

A: Property Monitoring is used when you plan to be out of town, and want regular check ins to ensure the security and safety of your property. We will do a walk around to check all windows, ensure doors are locked and ensure nothing is out of place. Simply provide your requested dates and any specific instructions, and we will get you scheduled. Standard Plans include 7 days. Complete plans include 14 days.

Q: How do I use my Off Day Service Request?

A: An Off-Day Request, included in Standard and Complete Membership plans, allows you to schedule service outside of your regularly assigned route day — ideal for preparing for a party or outdoor event.

A minimum of 7 days’ notice is required to adjust scheduling. Availability around holidays is first-come, first-served, so advance notice is strongly recommended.

Q: What is Member Appreciation Night?

A: Member Appreciation Night takes place on the last Friday of each month from May through October. We go live on Facebook and/or Instagram to randomly select ten members and award $1,000 in total prizes.

Live attendance is not required to win. Prizes are personally delivered within seven days of the drawing. Each member is eligible to win once per season to ensure as many members as possible have the opportunity to win.

Q: How and when are membership payments processed?

A: Billing is processed automatically on the first of each month using the payment method on file. Members may choose a credit/debit card or ACH bank draft — a secure electronic transfer from a checking account.

Q: Do you accept cash or check?

A: For consistency and automated billing, all memberships require a card on file or ACH bank draft. Cash and checks are not accepted for membership plans.

Q: Do you prorate plans started after the 1st of the month?

A: Services beginning on or before the 15th of the month are billed at the full monthly rate. Services starting after the 15th are billed at 50% of the monthly rate for that initial month.

Q: What is the $5 monthly processing fee?

A: The $5 monthly fee applies to credit and debit card payments to offset processing costs.

Members who enroll in ACH bank draft — a secure, automatic withdrawal from your checking account — will have this fee waived. ACH helps us reduce processing expenses and maintain stable pricing for all members.

Q: When does my service begin?

A: Spring cleanups are scheduled as soon as snow melts and ground conditions permit. Weekly maintenance generally begins two weeks after your cleanup. This allows your lawn to stabilize before entering a regular mowing schedule.

Q: Can I choose my service day?

A: Service days are assigned based on our structured route system. While specific days cannot be selected, your property will be serviced weekly on its designated route day.

The one exception is when using an off day request, which is included in standard and complete member plans. Please allow a minimum of 7 days notice, to ensure we can adjust our schedule to accommodate your request. A great use of an off day request is having your lawn mowed the day before a party or outdoor event at your property. Limited availability during holidays.

Q: What time will my property be serviced?

A: Service times vary based on daily routing. Lawns techs operate between 8 a.m at the earliest and 7 p.m at the latest.

Q: Can I receive a reminder before my service?

A: Yes. A one-hour advance arrival reminder is available as an add-on service. Your lawn technician will call and/or text you approximately one hour prior to arrival on your scheduled service day.

Q: What happens if it rains on my service day?

A: In most cases, service continues during light to moderate rain. In the event of severe weather, service will be rescheduled to the next available route day. Members will be notified by 5:00 p.m. if rescheduling is necessary.

Q: Do you service lawns on holidays?

A: Service is performed on major holidays, including Independence Day, Labor Day, and Memorial Day. Maintaining holiday operations allows us to keep routes on schedule and avoid weekend overflow.

Q: What if my property is inaccessible on my scheduled service day? (Locked or blocked gate, loose pets, etc.)

A: If access is unavailable on your scheduled service day, the inaccessible area will be skipped. If access is restored the same day, we will make a reasonable effort to return; however, due to tightly scheduled routes, a return visit cannot be guaranteed.

Q: What is included in weekly lawn service?

A: Weekly service includes mowing, string trimming (weedeating) around obstacles, and blowing debris from hard surfaces to leave your property clean and presentable.

Q: Do you bag grass clippings?

A: Clipping management is determined by lawn conditions and weather patterns. We may mulch or bag as needed to promote turf health and maintain a clean, finished appearance.

Unlimited bag removal is available as an add-on service. For properties with wooded areas, organic clippings may be dispersed into natural areas to compost when appropriate.

Q: Do you offer Bi-weekly Service?

A: No. All membership plans are structured for weekly maintenance. Due to Alaska’s extended daylight hours during the growing season, most lawns require weekly service to prevent overgrowth and to maintain a clean, well-kept appearance.

Q: Do you edge sidewalks and driveways?

A: Edging is not included in standard weekly service but is available as an add-on. Mechanical edging creates a crisp, defined line along driveways and walkways.

Because many properties in our service area have asphalt driveways rather than concrete, edging is less commonly required than in other regions.

Q: What if my lawn has pet waste?

A: For the safety of our lawn technicians and the cleanliness of your property, excessive pet waste will result in service being skipped. Service will resume once the area has been properly cleared. We define excessive pet waste as more than two days of accumulation for small- to medium-sized breeds, and more than one day of accumulation for large to XL sized breeds.

Because service occurs on the same assigned day each week, members have advance notice and sufficient time to prepare their property.

Q: Do you move patio furniture, toys, or yard items?

A: Lawn areas should be cleared prior to service. We do not move large items or assume responsibility for items left in the mowing area. Large structures, including trampolines, will not be relocated due to safety and liability considerations. We recommend you move large items every other week to avoid killing the turf beneath or prevent overgrowth.

While our lawn techs will make a reasonable effort to pick up small items that may have been overlooked, members are responsible for preparing the property in advance. As service occurs on the same designated day each week, members are provided consistent notice to do so.

Q: What if my property is damaged during service?

A: While damage is rare, any concerns should be reported within 24 hours so it can be promptly reviewed with the technician who serviced your property.

Iron Moose Lawn Company LLC is fully insured to address verified claims.

Q: Where do you offer snow plowing?

A: As of 2026, snow plowing services are available in Wasilla and Palmer. We plan to expand service to Anchorage and Eagle River in the near future.

Q: When do you begin snow plowing service?

A: Snow plowing is triggered at 2.5 inches of snow accumulation. During active snowfall events, when snow is forecasted to continue, service will begin at approximately 4 inches to allow for more efficient route completion and reduced repeat passes.

Q: What time will snow be cleared?

A: Snow removal is performed as conditions require, often including overnight operations. Exact service times cannot be guaranteed, as routes are scheduled for maximum efficiency based on snowfall totals and storm conditions.

If you prefer that service not occur during late-night hours, you can request it; however, please understand that this may place your property toward the end of the service route.

Q: How quickly will my driveway be cleared after snowfall?

A: Our Four Season Membership plans are limited to a set number of properties. This allows us to ensure all driveways are cleared within 24 hours following the end of a snow event — and typically much sooner.

Q: Can I request priority snow service?

A: Priority snow service is available as an add-on option. This service is limited to a set number of properties to ensure driveways are cleared within eight hours following the end of a snow event.

Q: Do you offer shoveling?

A: Shoveling is included in Complete Plans and is limited to designated walkways and decks. It is available as an add-on for Standard Plans.

Q: Do you apply ice melt?

A: Salt-based ice melts are not used, as they can damage lawns and surrounding landscaping when runoff occurs.

Complete Plans include sanding or gravel application for traction as needed. Iron Moose Lawn Company LLC is not responsible for slips, falls, or incidents related to naturally occurring ice conditions.

Q: What if vehicles are in the driveway?

A: Between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., our admin will send a text notification about one hour prior to your snow technician’s arrival.

During overnight operations, snow will be cleared from accessible areas only. A return visit may be requested to address obstructed areas; however, this is uncommon, as vehicle and pedestrian access is typically maintained.

Q: What if the city or borough plow creates a berm in front of my driveway?

A: We proactively create a pocket on the side of the driveway in the direction of municipal road plowing to help minimize berm buildup. However, during heavy snowfall events, a berm may still form.

If this occurs, please contact us and we will schedule a return visit to clear the obstruction.

Q: What if I have a gravel driveway?

A: For gravel driveways, initial snowfall events may not be plowed depending on ground and temperature conditions. Allowing snow to compact creates a protective base layer, helping prevent gravel displacement onto surrounding lawn areas.
